Joe Scarborough Signed Art Print Boston Drains Pike

by Joe Scarborough

This is an exclusive signed print taken from an original painting of the ‘Boston Drains Pike’ in Sheffield by the famous Sheffield artist Joe Scarborough, his Sheffield artwork takes inspiration from the daily life and architecture in and around Sheffield. “I was listening to Radio 4 and heard that Poet Laureate Ted Hughes had written two poems about a pike, then I vaguely recalled hearing two men in a pub saying a huge pike had been caught in the drains at Boston years ago.
The pub in the painting is the White Lion at Heeley in Sheffield and before some smart Alec points out that the N in WINDSOR is back to front, it wasn’t me it was the glaziers who got it wrong. It’s still there if you don’t believe me!
And it’s the first and only fish I’ve ever painted in 60 years!”
