An artist's proof is a critical part of the production process of fine art prints.

To remain faithful to the original painting, test prints are made to check for colour accuracy, detail, spelling, etc., by the artist before the final print run is released.

As a result of this, these prints often feature printer's marks, annotations by the printer or Joe, correctional marks and handling marks. All of this makes each artist proof unique, and highlights its importance in the production process of limited edition Joe Scarborough prints.

 All artist proofs are denoted 'A/P' rather than being from a numbered edition and are hand-signed by Joe.
